As a semiconductor test engineer, you will be responsible for validating the electrical performance of our new products (mixed-signal integrated circuits). As part of the development cycle, you will learn about the product technical requirements, create a test plan, and then develop automated software programs and supporting PCB hardware to validate the product performance. You will work collaboratively with definition, design, and application engineers to root-cause product issues and identify opportunities for resolution. For product release, you will develop a test solution for high volume manufacturing with an ultimate goal of providing quality product to our end customers.

Performance Objectives:

Successful Candidates:

  • Within 30 days the candidate will be familiar with the product introduction process and the Test & Product Engineering guidelines. They will have an understanding of the Automated Test Equipment used in production and the software requirements for test program generation.

  • At the end of 6 months the candidate will be functioning as a working member of the group. They will be writing programs to assist with data collection, analyzing the results, and communicating to peers. They will also be involved with the development of test plans and hardware for new products.

  • After 1 year the candidate will be an integral member of the team. They will be responsible for product release efforts and will be expected to identify opportunities for product/process improvement. Key

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with definition, design, and application engineers to understand product function. Develop semiconductor test plans that ensure all performance characteristics are validated. Detail the project tasks, schedule, and budget expectations.

  • Manage the design, fabrication, and debug of PCB hardware that will be used for product validation. This includes schematic generation, component selection, and PCB layout.

  • Generate test programs that utilize Automated Test Equipment to validate product electrical performance. Write test sequences and debug software\ tester\product interaction with typical bench instrumentation.

  • Confirm that the appropriate process guidelines, specifications, and strategies have been properly implemented into test programs and plans.

  • Analyze data results and generate supporting documentation. Communicate product performance findings to technical peers and the development team.

  • Support production release efforts, generate PCB hardware and test programs that enable high volume\low cost solutions for production test.

  • Attend relevant test conferences, industry shows, and/or seminars to keep abreast of industry testing standards, etc.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering required.

  • 1-5 yrs of relevant semiconductor test engineering experience.

  • Experience with C\C programming techniques desired.

  • Highly motivated and able to demonstrate a history of solving technical software and hardware issues. Familiar with the typical bench instrumentation used for electronics debug (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.)

  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail. An ability to multitask and work independently on projects.

  • Familiar with PCB development software tools such as OrCad and PADS a plus.
