Material Handler Shipping/Receiving/Stores – South Portland, ME
The Shipping/Receiving/Stores (SRS) Material Handler will be responsible for multiple activities in supportof semiconductor manufacturing in a fast paced, high technology industrial setting.
The SRS Material Handler will work as part of the SRS Team performing both scheduled & unscheduled daily tasks related to shipping, receiving, and stores management to support the site. The SRS Material Handler will coordinate with other team members to be sure all daily tasks are completed safely and in compliance with specifications. The SRS Material Handler will also collaborate with other SRS Team members to help improve systems and processes in the area to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
SRS Material Handlers work both inside and outside of the building, working with incoming and outgoing deliveries. The majority of the work will be performed in the Shipping and Receiving area or Maintenance Stores. SRS Material Handler will occasionally work inside the wafer fab clean room which requires wearing cleanroom garments to protect the in-process wafers from contamination. The SRS Material Handler will work with propane and electric forklifts, electric pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.
SRS Material Handlers will be expected to adhere to State and Federal regulations, corporate policies, site policies, & employ 5S techniques. Training will be supplied by ON Semiconductor to obtain needed certifications.
Mustbe available and able to work Monday - Friday, 8 hr days, shift start time TBD,but not earlier than 6AM. Must be flexible to modified start times (shortduration) to provide coverage for vacations, etc.
Candidates must be US citizens or permanent residents due to site ITAR restrictions.
Prepare outgoing shipmentsfor domestic and international shipping, and freight trucks, completingneeded paperwork for safe and accurate high value shipments.
Stockitems according to FIFO, pull and deliver material and supplies.
Unloadchemical and gas trucks, stage gas cylinders, and ship chemical containersfor refill per regulations.
Useof forklifts and other material handling equipment.
Inventorycontrol and inventory cycle counting.
Occasionalentry to the clean room for stocking tasks.
Provideexcellent customer support
Previous Inventory control,Receiving, or Shipping experience is preferred.
CFR49 and/or IATAcertifications are preferred, ability to obtain certifications required.
Basicmath skills and computer skills.
Abilityto follow written &verbal procedures and directions
Attentionto detail & problem solving skills required.
Forklift experience preferred,training available
Capableof standing for at least 75% of the time during any particular shift.
Capableof working with and around chemicals (safety training is provided).
Remainflexible to shift start times for short durations to provide coverageduring vacations, etc.
Capableof cross training (learning more than one job or operation) and multitasking.
Organizationskills and the ability to prioritize one’s work.
Innovativeand motivated team player to work in an area with a continuous improvementmindset
Capableof lifting 50 lbs
- High school diploma orequivalent required, Additional schooling preferred
