ON Semiconductor Process Engineer - Diffusion in South Portland, Maine

We are seeking a Diffusion Sustaining Engineer who will join a team of process sustaining engineers and equipment engineers in a dynamic and challenging manufacturing environment. This is an opportunity to take a collaborative approach in implementing traditional and nontraditional IC processes. This position will be responsible for sustaining manufacturing and have additional responsibilities to support Process Development.

Process engineering at the Western Ave fab includes the maintenance and control of the processes, providing SPC reaction plans and dispositioning nonconforming product. The Diffusion process engineer will be expected to evaluate and implement creative solutions which improve performance, yield, cycle time, and reliability. In addition they will be expected to help develop new processes and reduce cost. The individual will also work with equipment technicians to resolve process/equipment issues.

Successful Candidates

Within 30 days the successful candidates will understand the process engineering procedures, the tools and methods available for data generation, extraction and analysis as well as a broad understanding of the scope of the current and future projects within the organization. They will also take the time to study and understand the variety of processes that are currently in production at our South Portland factory and be given time to understand the integration of the various modules through documentation and discussion with key engineering personnel.

At the end of 90-days, a full understanding of the Diffusion unit process, including capabilities of both the tooling and the fab infrastructure will be expected. A working knowledge of fab process change procedures and appropriate engineering protocols will be achieved. Particular focus will be given to designed experiments and analysis of various data sources.
