ON Semiconductor Automotive Marketing and Applications Manager in Shenzhen, China

ON Semiconductor’s Power Solutions Group (PSG) is looking for a highly motivated Automotive Marketing and Applications Manager in our Shenzhen, China location who can effectively and efficiently lead our automotive business growth in China. The person will be responsible for driving revenue growth and new design wins at targeted customer accounts across the China region. The position is focused on understanding the market trends, the competition, and the end customer application / system requirements while working closely with our Global team of field applications engineers, sales, SEC (solutions engineering centers) and Business Unit personnel. The position is also responsible for developing new product ideas and supporting the business units in project selection, successful product launch and design wins at these targeted customers.

Specific duties include:

  • A self-motivated manager who can effectively and efficiently lead new application projects and can partner well with other engineering, sales, business and customer teams.

  • Developing intimate knowledge of standard products (both mature and new) in end automotive applications

  • Drive Revenue - Continue to drive our automotive revenue in China in new product/application areas in accordance to BU strategies, with an emphasis in Autonomous (ADAS) and Connected vehicles while supporting existing business growth with AVL conversions, contract negotiations using the business marketing team as well as QSAM/VAVE share gain activities. Keep track on the crawl, feedback on capacity planning.

  • Strategy – Drive CBIs (Critical Business Initiatives) aligning PSG automotive strategy with China automotive market, ensuring new products design-wins and identifying gaps/opportunities for new product ideas.

  • Platforms – Align major OEMs design platforms & PSG products with local suppliers and guidance for China OEM design wins in other regions.

  • Support – Point of contact for PSG China automotive, supporting the China automotive team on PSG related items

  • Defining new product ideas, supporting project selection, product launch and driving design wins

  • Support the creation and presentation of system solutions, demos and collaterals to be used at shows and customer sites

  • Provide direct technical support and training to our field applications, sales & distribution and business units

  • Develop close working relationships with the China customers including Tier 1's, OEMs, Tier2's, and new entrants.

  • Visiting customers across China region. Potential travel to the U.S. as well as other regional locations with focus on China-based customers.

  • Market intelligence, input to BU on focus growth areas/customers.

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

  • 10 years’ experience in a similar position, especially in vehicle electrification.

  • Strong technical background in the semiconductor industry and in automotive hardware design

  • A track record of proven success in automotive applications positions, with demonstrated results in achieving design wins and revenue growth.

  • Must be proficient and knowledgeable in the following areas: automotive systems expertise, application circuit design, AEC-Q reliability requirements, design for EMI/EMC, ESD

  • Knowledge on RFID and UHF communications will be an added advantage

  • Mandatory to have good written and oral communication skills in English

  • Self-motivated Manager who can learn to lead new application projects and can work well with other engineering and business teams
