ON Semiconductor Test Automation Architect in Phoenix, Arizona

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze testing strategies and breaks down technical tasks into logical pieces for successful automation test implementation across various Enterprise and Manufacturing applications

  • Recommends changes in testing frameworks to improve efficiency and test coverage

  • Assists in the creation of automated test cases and provides business abstractions of the UI and API interfaces to enable non-programmers to accomplish test automation

  • Creation of test cases, provides training and provides hands-on coaching

  • Assists in the automation, running and maintenance of test cases

  • Collaborates with IT SW developers and business clients to help influence testing best practices

  • Lead Phoenix QA Automation Efforts and Test Design/Architecture

  • Member of a fast paced Environment working on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Reporting test results measurements that focus on continuous quality improvement

  • Implement successful initial test automation on multiple projects

  • Infrequent international travel (<15%) will be required


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems/Business Information Systems Engineering or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred

Technical skills:

  • An IT professional with 5 years of experience in Software Application Development, Support, Design or Testing

  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in Test Automation (Tricentis TOSCA platform a plus)

  • Demonstrated experience with object oriented software development; particularly C# and JAVA

  • Technical knowledge of IT standard programming languages and design methodologies and practices

  • Familiar with common automation test challenges such as test data, environment configurations and risk-based test coverage

  • Functional, Integration, User Acceptance and Regression Testing Experience

  • Proactively suggests solutions for automated testing challenges and drives solutions to closure

  • Effective communication (oral and written) skills including problem solving, prioritizing and interpersonal relationship building.

  • Effectively interacts with business and technical audiences, tailoring the communication to multiple levels of audiences to achieve desired results

  • Ability to work effectively as a team member, across operation and project teams, and independently

  • Proven track record in working directly with clients to define testing solutions that enable their business objectives

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to inexperienced staff members

  • Ability to demonstrate potential in leading technical test framework and automation discussions during analysis, design and troubleshooting issues
