ON Semiconductor Director, Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) in Phoenix, Arizona

ON Semiconductor is seeking a self-driven and motivated professional to join their Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) team, located in Phoenix, Arizona. As the Director of Environmental, Health and Safety, you will have the opportunity to lead the EHS strategic initiatives for the corporation. This includes improvement, strategy development and overseeing the implementation and continuous improvement of the EHS processes at all of our worldwide sites with specific focus on manufacturing locations. This position reports directly to the SVP, Quality/EHS/CSR and will be a member of the Global Quality senior leadership team.

Performance Objectives:

Expectations for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Create and execute strategiesfocused on continuous improvement of implemented and/or newly designed EHSprograms at all global sites in accordance with corporate EHS standards andpractices, respecting site specifics.

  • Maintain and improve comprehensiveEHS program that includes maintenance of existing and achievement of newcertifications to international EHS standards in accordance with customerrequirements, including ISO14001 and OHSAS18001

  • Provide technical expertise,strategic leadership, and support for all ON Semiconductor’s facilities(including all acquisitions) on regulatory compliance issues as well as on complianceissues associated with other EHS requirements, e.g. insurance carrierrequirements.

  • Focus on improving the safety andenvironmental culture of the company.

  • Make sure that ON Semiconductorsites comply with customer EHS requirements and provide responses to customerEHS relevant requests.

  • Drive the global sustainabilityinitiatives of the company for resource conservation

  • Partner with global site leaders toidentify and reduce EHS risk and prevent injuries.

  • Manage the EHSmetrics and provide analyses of associated data in order to create programs toimprove the EHS performance of individual sites.

  • Compile and submit monthly/quarterlyKPIs that drive progress towards EHS objectives and targets and onsite EHSactivities.

  • Compile and discuss with executives thequarterly EHS/CSR report for meetings with Board of Directors.

  • Compile and present the annual informationto top management in accordance with requirements of international managementsystem standards.

  • Serve as an agent of the company andrepresentative/liaison to a variety of external entities pertinent to theduties of the position.

  • Stay current and continuouslyimprove the program by staying abreast of relevant technologies andregulations, and identifying industry best practices.

  • Ensure that all sites are compliantwith all required Environmental permits.

  • Manage the activities to maintainthe EHS management systems effective.

  • Manage the program of improving the propertyloss control to achieve optimal and cost effective risk reduction at individualsites.

  • Prioritize investments in order toimprove EHS performance and reduce the exposure to risks.

  • Ensure that cooperation with externaland internal representatives of RBA and CSR results in improved EHS performanceof the company.

  • Lead and professionally develop theEHS team.

  • MinimumBA/BS in Chemistry, Occupational Safety, I/H, Environmental or relateddiscipline, Masters or Ph. D. preferred

  • Minimum14 years of experience.

  • Experiencewith multi-site responsibility

  • Knowledgeof environmental technologies/processes

  • Experiencewith safety culture improvement programs

  • Experiencewith hazard and risk control associated processes

  • Internationalexperience in EHS of manufacturing environment

  • Generalknowledge of EHS relevant laws andregulations

  • Knowledgeof international EHS standards

  • Effectiveinternal and external communication skills, written and oral, with the ability topresent to different audiences

  • Stronginterpersonal skills to communicate with diverse cultures

  • Excellentleadership skills and ability to influence at all levels of the organization

  • Availabilityfor domestic and International travel
