Position Description

As a senior ASIC design engineer in the field of digital circuits design, the incumbent will be expected to be current in the state of the art design methods and be active in developing and improving our design process.

The Team

ON Semiconductor’s Medical Division requires an enthusiastic, technically skilled, and highly organized individual to work as part of the ASIC design team on the development activities for our mixed signals products, in collaboration with other departments worldwide. Our products are designed for low-power applications in several key markets including medical, audiology (hearing aids), audio and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead feasibility of new products and the development of chip specification based on customer and marketing requirements.

  • Low power integrated circuit design using Verilog/VHDL, and verification using either VHDL or Verilog/System Verilog.

  • Evaluation and characterization of integrated circuits in a lab environment with preference for ability to script tests for automation.

  • Support of internal and external test development activities as well as pattern generation for production tests.

  • Preparation of technical reviews and product documentations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum a Bachelor degree in electrical/computer engineering or equivalent.

  • 4-6 years of direct design experience in industry pertaining to Digital IC design and development.

  • Must have a proven track record of successful digital IC designs from concept to working products.

  • CAD tool expertise including logic synthesis, STA, DFT/ATPG, Logic Equivalency Checking. Experience in P&R is an asset.

  • Exposure to DSP, microcontrollers and programming in assembly and C.

  • Ability to automate verification and design tasks with Python or TCL.

  • Expertise in instrumentation and measurement methodologies.

  • Ability to operate as digital lead designer for complex digital/mixed-signal chips.

  • Ability to work with analog designers and to collaborate with remote cross-functional teams.

  • Self motivated individual, innovative, confident, thorough and team oriented.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
