ON Semiconductor Principal Test Development Engineer in Sunnyvale, California
As test development engineer you will have the opportunity to research product technical requirements, validate its performance characteristics, and then developing test solutions for high volume manufacturing. You will work collaboratively with definition, design, and application engineers to root-cause product issues, identify opportunities for resolution, and ultimately provide quality products to our end customers. You will lead the overall effort for manufacturing test from product concept to volume manufacturing including new silicon bring up and debug. You will leverage data to derive test limits and support data sheet finalization.
Within 30 days the candidate will be familiar with the productintroduction process and the Test & Characterization guidelines. Theywill have an understanding of the Automated Test Equipment used in productionand the software requirements for program generation.
At the end of 3 months the candidate will be functioning as a working memberof the group. They will be writing programs to assist with datacollection, analyzing the results, and communicating to peers. They willalso be involved with the development of test plans and hardware for newproducts.
After the 6 months the candidate will be an integral member of theteam. They will be fully responsible for product release efforts and willbe expected to identify opportunities for product/process improvement.
Develop semiconductor test plans thatenable high volume\low cost solutions for production test. Detail theproject tasks, schedule, and budget expectations.
Work with design engineers to definetestability requirements to ensure controllability and observability needs aremet to support characterization and manufacturing test.
Utilize Automated Test Equipment tovalidate new product designs. Communicate performance findings totechnical peers and the development team.
Develop test programs, analyze dataresults, and generate supporting documentation.
Confirm that the appropriate processguidelines, specifications, and strategies have been properly implemented intotest programs and plans.
Design interface and measurementcircuits that enhance tester capabilities and ensure compatibility with newproduct designs.
Work closely with the manufacturingsites to ensure production hardware solutions and programs are released withinthe expected delivery dates.
Manage the design, fabrication, anddebug of PCB hardware that will be used during product validation. Thisincludes schematic generation, component selection, and PCB layout review.
Attend relevant test conferences,industry shows, and/or seminars to keep abreast of industry testing standards,etc.
Take the lead in setting priorities and roadmap for test solutions to be used in the business unit
Buildrelationships with other Test and Operations leaders to ensure best practicesare used throughout On
Solve challenging technical problems undertight deadlines
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical,Electronic, or Computer Engineering required.
10 yrs of relevant test experience in analog and digital testdevelopment.
Candidate must be highly motivated andable to demonstrate a history of independently solving technical problems,identifying electrical circuit performance issues, and recommendingprocess/design improvement opportunities either through college projects orwork experience.
Strong written and verbal skills arerequired in order to effectively communicate technical details to internalpeers and external customers.
Familiar with PCB development softwaretools such as OrCad and PADS a plus.
Experience with C\C programmingtechniques desired.
Experience with ETS36, ETS88 & ETS800testers desired.
Comfortable to travel up to 10%
