ON Semiconductor Director, Engineering in San Jose, California

Summary

As a critical member of the ISG Operations organization, the Director of Engineering will lead several critical management functions which consist of Program management new product development, and driving KPI towards time to market strategy for each of the ISG division based on business unit cost requirement. In addition to the above responsibilities, the individual will also be a key driver in the global initiatives on DFM/DFT development as well as for platform initiative from ISG executive management. The goal for director engineering is to provide path to the most efficient product introduction to have the best in class in Quality, cost, yield, NPI cycle time and resource management. He/she will be working in close collaboration with BU, design, technology, fab, manufacturing and program management to drive the speed of light initiative. Deploying resources to work closely with manufacturing to ensure for ISG’s future success in Quality, Cost, Yield and Cycle time. The individual will join a fast pace, fast growth organization working on state of the art Image Sensor Products in the Automotive, Consumer, and Industrial segments. We are looking for an individual that brings energy, strategy, integrity, and great interpersonal skills to our organization to transform our organization to the next level. The individual will also lead and drive cross functional initiatives and continue improve our business processes and systems as well as raise the organizational dynamics. He/she, at times, will provide high caliber presentation to propose our visions and plans to our executive team. The Director of Engineering reports directly to VP of Operations.

Objectives

  • Build and establish Program managementorganization to drive Best in Class Quality, Cost, Yield and Cycle time for ISGBusinesses

  • Deliver and establish business process to ensureNPI to achieve world class product ramp schedule, expedite, and deliveries for ourbusiness needs.

  • Build seamless relationship with design,manufacturing, Business unit, and program management to deliver ISG BusinessObjectives and review our KPI in a monthly basis with exec team on progress.

  • Champion to deliver KPI and resource matrixreview processes to ensure meeting ISG business objectives.

  • Developproduct meeting our cost, yield and quality right of the gate meeting ourfinancial target

  • Drive Road to Zero initiative to ensure eachdepartment in ISG to own and deploy programs to address Road to Zero continuousimprovement efforts.

  • Proactive coordinate and manage initiatives todrive closure and provide program management support to ensure meeting ourcommitment

  • Support ISG on any business requirement asneeded to provide problem resolutions

Requirement/Qualifications

  • BA/BS in electrical engineering or engineering orrelated Field, MBA preferred and with fab process experience

  • 10-15 year of relevant experience inSemiconductor Industry specializing in Image sensor products

  • Experience in managing new product introductionin the consumer and automotive segments

  • Experience in managing sensitive relationship,and accountable to convey our NPI needs and turn into actions for departments. Result driven, creative and resourceful,experience in delivering strategic solutions

  • Fluent and with in-depth understanding inplanning, demand/forecast, forward cost modeling, product deliveries andinventory management

  • Strong leadership skill and trait, and proventrack record of program management and drive Quality/cost improvement in ourexternal manufacturers.

  • Experienced in program management and supplychain management systems

  • Ability to lead, mentor, and attract talents;self-driven, motivated and excellent in problem solving skill with exceptionalanalytical and persuasion on directions

  • Being able to managing risk,making decisions under conditions of high ambiguity and stress, resulting inclear direction that delivers value

  • Excellent verbal and written communicationskills; ability to present to executive team on BU proposal and plans.
