ON Semiconductor Capacity Planning Analyst in Phoenix, Arizona

ON Semiconductor is seeking a self-driven and motivated professional to join the Global Supply Chain Organization (GSCO), located in Phoenix, Arizona. The Wafer Fab Capacity Analyst role is a high visibility, fast paced position with responsibility for alignment of demand to supply in both the tactical and strategic horizons. The primary purpose of this role is to provide insights into supply disconnects and recommend ways to close the gaps. As the Capacity Planning Analyst, you will be the bridge between the needs of the business and the capabilities of the wafer fabs. In addition, you will have the opportunity to drive improvement and expansion of the team’s ability to support multiple business units serviced through a network of internal and external manufacturing sites located across the globe.

Performance Objectives:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

  • Analyze forecasts and demand signals in order to provide supply commitments that support business goals, company revenue, and supply chain inventory targets

  • Manage starting material requirements and allocation to factories to optimize wafer starts

  • Collaborate with manufacturing to determine optimal method (efficiency improvements, part transfers, capital expenditures) to resolve shortfalls in the supply plan

  • Optimize constrained fab resources by negotiating prioritizes and allocation agreements between the various business units

  • Improve existing data analysis tools and design new tools to support the team’s ability to make quick, informed decisions and recommendations

  • Develop an understanding of the different businesses within the company in order to anticipate flexibility required in current capacity and proactively support future business strategies

  • Build relationships across the company’s supply chain that can be leveraged to drive decision making and acceptance of the recommended course of action

  • BS Degree, Required; Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management preferred

  • 6 years of manufacturing capacity planning and/or supply chain experience

  • Strong computing skills with proficiency in data/query tools (SQL, Excel, Access, etc.) and large scale data manipulation

  • Good analytical, process, and communication skills

  • Ability to interface with management, engineering, planning and factory representatives, both internal and external, on all issues relating to capacity and the production planning

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing tasks effectively

Preferred skills:

  • Semiconductor manufacturing experience

  • Advanced Planning Systems experience (JDA or Kinaxis Rapid Response)

  • Experience with high-paced, diverse, multicultural, and global environments
